Draughtsman / Design Engineer Contract Role

Elevation Design & projects are working with a leading manufacturing business based in Rotherham, supplying precision-engineered components into highly regulated industries. With a strong commitment to quality and compliance, we are known for delivering reliable, complex solutions to our customers.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Draughtsman to join our team on a fixed-term contract for an initial period of 3–6 months. The successful candidate will support ongoing design and engineering projects and must be capable of contributing immediately with minimal supervision. This is a fast-paced role suited to someone who is highly proficient with Siemens NX and/or SolidWorks, and who has prior experience working in regulated environments (e.g., aerospace, nuclear, medical, or similar sectors). However, the team can be very flexible on industry background if you have worked within manufacturing.

Draughtsman / Design Engineer Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate technical drawings, 3D models, and detailed component designs using Siemens NX and SolidWorks.
  • Interpret engineering specifications and tooling, jig, fixture requirements into manufacturable solutions to develop existing production lines
  • Revise and update existing drawings in line with engineering change processes.
  • Collaborate with the engineering, production, and quality to drive design efficiency
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing during the manufacturing process
  • Ensure all documentation is completed in line with internal procedures and project deadlines.

Draughtsman / Design Engineer Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Draughtsman or Design Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Siemens NX and/or SolidWorks is important, however, transferable software experience
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work autonomously, managing workload effectively to meet tight project deadlines.
