Hours: Mon–Thurs 08:00–17:00, Fri 08:00–13:00
Salary: £40,000-£50,000
Holidays: 25 days + Bank Holidays

The Opportunity

Elevation Recruitment Group are partnering with an innovative engineering specialist in the Automotive / Steel Fabrication sector. We are seeking a technically strong, Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design, development, and customisation of premium quality products from initial concept through to manufacturing.

What You'll Do

• Design bespoke product variants based on customer requirements using 3D CAD (Inventor or equivalent).

• Produce full assembly, manufacturing drawings, and maintain accurate BOMs.

• Collaborate closely with Workshop Supervisors and Procurement to ensure seamless delivery.

• Act as the customer liaison, translating project needs into design solutions.

• Drive continuous improvement of existing product designs and manufacturing processes.

What We’re Looking For

• HND in Mechanical Engineering (or higher) – strong technical foundation essential.

• Proven experience with fabricated assemblies, sheet‑metal design, and ideally hydraulics/electrical systems.

• Proficient with Inventor 3D CAD (or comparable platform).

• Solid understanding of Machinery Standards and relevant legislation.

• Skilled at managing multiple projects, prioritising tasks, and delivering to deadlines.

• Confident communicator and team player with a pragmatic, solution-focused mindset.
