Tax Senior 
Sheffield, South Yorkshire 
Competitive Salary - flexible dependant on experience

We are looking for a proactive and experienced tax professional to join a professional services team, stepping into a key position within an established tax function. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing a broad range of tax compliance and advisory work across both personal and corporate clients.

This role offers a balanced mix of hands-on compliance responsibilities and the potential to grow your experience in tax advisory and planning projects.

Key Responsibilities 

Personal Tax Compliance:

  • Take full ownership of a portfolio of personal, partnership, and trust tax clients
  • Manage the end-to-end tax return process - from gathering information and preparing returns to submitting filings and issuing final bills
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing updates, advising on upcoming liabilities, and liaising with HMRC when necessary
  • Approximately 350 returns managed annually

Corporate Tax:

  • Collaborate with the accounts team to review and validate tax computations prepared during the accounts process
  • Finalise corporate tax computations post year-end and ensure timely filing following client approval

P11D and Benefits Reporting:

  • Responsible for collecting relevant benefits data and preparing accurate reports for submission to HMRC

Tax Planning & Advisory:

  • Support the delivery of value-added tax planning and advisory work, with increasing involvement over time
  • Assist with bespoke client projects across areas such as business structuring, capital gains, and inheritance tax planning

What We’re Looking For

  • Solid experience in an accountancy practice or tax-focused environment
  • Strong knowledge of both personal and corporate tax principle
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritise effectively
  • Confident communicator, comfortable building relationships with clients and colleagues alike
  • A self-starter who enjoys both the structure of compliance and the challenge of advisory work
