Credit Controller Chesterfield, Derbyshire Up to £29,000
Elevation Accountancy & Finance are thrilled to have partnered with a business based in Chesterfield in their search for a Credit Controller to join their well established team on a permanent, full-time basis.
This role is ideal for a motivated finance professional seeking to take ownership of a large and diverse accounts receivable portfolio within a corporate environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring a smooth end-to-end order-to-cash process, working closely with internal teams and external customers across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
Proactively manage and control a portfolio of 700–800 customer accounts, ranging from high-value key accounts with credit limits up to £1M to smaller customers
Perform daily credit control tasks including chasing overdue balances, resolving account issues, and managing payment commitments
Conduct regular account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies, ensuring accurate financial records are maintained
Collaborate with internal departments including Sales, Cash Allocation, and Finance to facilitate timely order releases, dispute resolutions, and audit support
Use Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and spreadsheets) to generate reports, track performance, and analyse customer behaviour
Participate in monthly aged debt review meetings with stakeholders to improve collections and reduce overdue exposure
Support process improvement initiatives aimed at automating workflows and enhancing collaboration across the business
Skills & Experience Required:
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
Prior experience in credit control or similar finance-related role
Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities
Confident communicator who can build rapport with both customers and colleagues
Comfortable working with high-volume data
