Chesterfield, Derbyshire
Up to £29,000 

Elevation Accountancy & Finance are thrilled to have partnered with a business based in Chesterfield in their search for a Credit Controller to join their well established team on a permanent, full-time basis. 

This role is ideal for a motivated finance professional seeking to take ownership of a large and diverse accounts receivable portfolio within a corporate environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring a smooth end-to-end order-to-cash process, working closely with internal teams and external customers across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively manage and control a portfolio of 700–800 customer accounts, ranging from high-value key accounts with credit limits up to £1M to smaller customers
  • Perform daily credit control tasks including chasing overdue balances, resolving account issues, and managing payment commitments
  • Conduct regular account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies, ensuring accurate financial records are maintained
  • Collaborate with internal departments including Sales, Cash Allocation, and Finance to facilitate timely order releases, dispute resolutions, and audit support
  • Use Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and spreadsheets) to generate reports, track performance, and analyse customer behaviour
  • Participate in monthly aged debt review meetings with stakeholders to improve collections and reduce overdue exposure
  • Support process improvement initiatives aimed at automating workflows and enhancing collaboration across the business

Skills & Experience Required: 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
  • Prior experience in credit control or similar finance-related role
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities
  • Confident communicator who can build rapport with both customers and colleagues
  • Comfortable working with high-volume data
