Elevation are working on behalf of a Sheffield based manufacturer to recruit an on site / off site Mechanical Fitter

Role: Offsite Mechanical Fitter

Hourly Rate: £17.16 plus enhanced rates for offsite work
Location: Sheffield Based with UK and Overseas travel
Shift Pattern: Monday – Thursday 06:30 – 16:15

Responsibilities:

• Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems and equipment offsite
• Carry out routine maintenance, fault finding, and repairs
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
• Use a range of hand and power tools to build and repair mechanical components
• Conduct inspections and suggest corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations when working offsite
• Liaise with engineers, technicians, and site teams
• Maintain detailed records of all work carried out
• Contribute to ongoing improvements in processes and quality

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar
• Strong mechanical knowledge, including fitting and assembly
• Ability to confidently read and work from technical drawings
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
• Great attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering preferred
• 3-5 years’ experience in a similar mechanical fitting role
• Ability to travel overseas without restriction
