Elevation Recruitment Group are working in partnership with a leading precision engineering manufacturer in Sheffield, who are looking to appoint a Graduate Quality Engineer to join their expanding quality team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent engineering graduate who has had exposure to CMM operation or programming and Quality Inspection and is now looking to develop a long-term career in quality engineering within a high-spec manufacturing environment.
The Role:
As Graduate Quality Engineer, you will support the quality team across all areas of inspection, compliance, and process improvement. You'll play a key role in maintaining product standards and driving a culture of continuous improvement, working closely with engineering and production teams.
Responsibilities will include:
Operating and supporting programming of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)
Conducting component inspections using both manual and automated methods
Reading and interpreting technical drawings and GD&T specifications
Supporting root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
Assisting with internal audits and maintaining quality documentation
Collaborating with the wider team to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements
Person Specification:
Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or a related Engineering discipline
Exposure to CMM inspection and/or programming (e.g. Mitutoyo, PC-DMIS, or similar)
Understanding of engineering drawings and tolerance standards
Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proactive approach with strong communication and teamworking abilities
Keen to develop professionally within a high-quality manufacturing environment
Desirable (but not essential):
Knowledge of AS9100 or ISO 9001 standards
Experience with basic quality tools and techniques (e.g. 8D, 5 Whys, Pareto)
