Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a special pupose machinery manufacturer near Chesterfield to help them recruit an Electrical Project Engineer.

As an Electrical Design / Project Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical control systems, working with conventional logic (relay, timer) and PLC-based hardware and software. This role provides an excellent opportunity for professional growth, with mentorship and on-the-job training available from a highly experienced team member.
Designing electrical control systems based on conventional logic and PLC/HMI solutions from customer-supplied documentation.
Creating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-line drawings using AutoCAD.
Developing 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using PTC Creo and AutoCAD.
Maintaining and improving existing product lines, ensuring continuous innovation.
Producing comprehensive product documentation, including instruction manuals and technical literature.
Assisting in contract documentation and collaborating with engineering teams to deliver large-scale projects.
Traveling to client sites for meetings, installations, and commissioning as required.
Creating cause-and-effect diagrams, power consumption tables, and heat dissipation analyses.
Supporting quality and work procedures for manufacturing and workshop operations.
Assembling control panels, troubleshooting, and installing new and existing equipment.
Managing Bill of Materials (BOMs) within the company’s MRP system.
Minimum HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering (degree-level preferred).
Significant experience in designing control systems using conventional logic and PLCs.
Strong understanding of wiring regulations and industry standards, especially in the marine sector.
Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical schematics.
Basic familiarity with 3D CAD software (PTC Creo preferred).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Competence with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Hands-on experience in building and testing control panels.
Attention to detail when assessing project and customer requirements.
Excellent written communication skills with a high standard of accuracy.
Self-motivated, confident, and resourceful.
Ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team.
Familiarity with PTC Creo/Windchill software is a plus but not essential.
