Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
Shift Pattern: Friday to Sunday Nights 6pm-6am
Salary: £38,261
Contract Type: Permanent
Role Purpose
To ensure that all engineering activities are undertaken as instructed to a high standard in order to achieve the safest and most efficient and effective production possible.
To report any items which may require maintenance, or where improvements may be made which would reduce waste and/or increase production.
Objectives
1. Engineering
1.1 Ensure the performance of the plant is maintained at agreed levels – aim of 100%,and promote a “Can-Do” culture within the engineering department.
1.2 Daily checks include Safety, operational, technical, calibrations and engineering, routine maintenance in accordance with the manufacture’s schedules, complete all relevant documentation to ensure the Iso 9001 (2015). standard the site adheres too.
1.3 To carry out regular checks on essential plant, machinery, and equipment as part of the planned preventative maintenance schedule. To attend to all breakdown in a timely manner to ensure delivery a sustainable OEE performance plant.
1.4 To install new plant, machinery, or equipment, in association with external contractors as required.
1.5 To consider the demands of engineering on production and liaise with the Senior Engineer in order to agree the most effective overall maintenance solutions.
1.6 To recommend to the Senior Engineer the purchase of plant and tools as deemed necessary to ensure a high standard of maintenance is met.
1.7 To ensure that all maintenance work is undertaken in a safe manner within health and safety guidelines the forefront of a working practices, liaising with the Health & Safety Manager as required.
1.8 To ensure outside contractors undertake their duties to the standard required and in line with general, and Company, health and safety policy.
1.9 Highlight issues and come up with long term solutions to support operational improvement, liaise with the Senior Engineer with CI ideas and plans.
1.10 To be available for call-out duties to provide cover in the event of an emergency break-down and on occasions shift cover may be required.
2. General
2.1 To carry out housekeeping as necessary to keep the areas under your control safe, clean and tidy, (workshop clean on the last day of your working week).
2.2 To report to the Senior Engineer and Health & Safety Manager promptly any safety concerns, dangerous occurrences, or accidents.

To report all engineering-related spillages to the Senior Engineer and Health & Safety Manager and take agreed action as a result.
2.4 To carry out all agreed safety and maintenance checks on tools and equipment in a timely manner.
2.5 To report any damage or malfunctioning machinery to the Senior Engineer and take appropriate action as directed.
2.6 To attend/complete training given by the company to ensure you can carry out all tasks assigned to engineering, (MEWP, FLT, Online training for H&S)
2.7 To attend and participate fully in Team Meetings
