Test Manager

Location: London (Hybrid 3 days in office)
Length: 4 months
Rate: £450 (Outside IR35)

The Role

This is not a hands-on testing role. We are looking for someone who can bring structure, strategy and best practice to the testing programme.

You will work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, external suppliers and a small team of business-based testers to establish how testing should be planned, managed and delivered.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing a practical test strategy for the platform and wider programme.
• Establishing testing processes, governance and templates from the ground up.
• Planning and scheduling testing activities across the development lifecycle.
• Coordinating and harnessing a small team of testers who are primarily business users rather than professional Test Analysts.
• Defining appropriate approaches to unit, integration, system and end-to-end testing.
• Working with BAs to ensure user stories and requirements are testable, measurable and have clear expected outcomes.
• Supporting the creation of manual test scripts and expected results.
• Working with developers and the external development partner to ensure appropriate testing takes place before releases.
• Helping establish confidence in data quality, completeness, accuracy and complex validation rules.
• Providing visibility of testing progress, risks, issues and readiness for release.
