Role description:

 

Arcadis is seeking a Director of Architecture and Engineering to join our US Semiconductor Sector. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for ensuring the consistent, coordinated execution of multidisciplinary engineering and architecture project deliverables. The role is responsible for managing and coordinating the cross-discipline interaction of the US Semiconductor discipline managers with a focus on developing talent and providing innovative and technical solutions.

 

As a senior subject-matter leader with broad expertise spanning design and construction, you will also contribute to the development, maintenance, and implementation of Arcadis’ knowledge base and technical training initiatives. Externally, you will represent Arcadis at industry events, contribute to white papers, promote our technical leadership, and maintain strong client relationships.

Role accountabilities:

  • Participate in hiring of lead engineers across all engineering departments.
  • Develop and execute Design and Department technical KPIs across all engineering disciplines; support operations with accurate forecasting and annual budgets to meet these KPIs.
  • Implement new engineering software tools and lead associated training initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Quality to deploy group systems, procedures, work instructions, and related training.
  • Support Business Development through technical sales, proposal preparation, and client presentations; participate in developing deliverable norms and associated resource plans.
  • Coordinate with Project Management and Project Controls to align engineering systems and procedures with project resourcing and project delivery, including Lean Project Execution.
  • Manage and coordinate the US Semiconductor Operation technical training program for engineering personnel, including engagement with HR on graduate training schemes, CPD, career planning, and training budgets.
  • Oversee relevant regulatory compliance on projects within the US Semiconductor Operation.
  • Develop and manage relevant technical standards and codes within the US Semiconductor Operation to align with the Group knowledge management system; oversee compliance of engineering deliverables with the latest codes and standards. Maintain and budget for relevant codes and standards used by engineers.
  • Lead project design delivery technical quality compliance within the US Semiconductor Operation by facilitating design reviews and lessons-learned sessions; manage lessons-learned implementation. Coordinate with Quality to conduct internal technical quality audits and close out corrective actions for each discipline.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor level degree in related Engineering discipline or equivalent, with minimum of 15 years related experience and/or training.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Suite, Bluebeam, understand concepts of CAD and BIM (Autodesk suite of products) and how these tools are utilized by team to generate project deliverables.
  • Professional Engineering or Architecture license required.
  • Experience in direct line supervision of engineering or architecture. Preferred industry in A/E/C consulting.
  • Strong team management and people leadership skills. Including verbal and written communication methods.
  • Ability to read, analyse and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, agencies or members of the business community. Write speeches and articles for publication.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Able to apply logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Deal with nonverbal symbolism (e.g., formulas and equations) in difficult phases. Deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Previous Advanced Technology and/or Life Sciences project management experience a plus.
  • Ability to provide legal US work authorization documents required. Will consider US domestic travelers and relocation.
