What are we looking for?
At ARCADIS Engineering, our Senior Engineers will work on various client projects from Concept, Basis of Design, and Detail Design stage, right through in some cases, to Lifecycle management, and CQV. The position of Senior Automation Engineer would suit a motivated, practical and adaptable individual who wishes to work in a progressive and innovative consultancy design office. The post holder will work in a multi-disciplinary engineering team to deliver projects within the broad industrial and pharmaceutical sectors.
The design work will predominantly be in the Automation discipline, but may include support of other disciplines including Process, Electrical, and Instrumentation. The role will be a variation of office and Client site-based work.
Job Scope:
- Work on various client projects during Concept, Basis of Design, and Detail Design
- Design of Control System Architecture, Generation of Control System Philosophy, Technical Specifications, User Requirements, and Control Narratives
- Review of Vendor Design Documentation
- Coordination and/or alignment of Process, Instrumentation and Automation design Development
- Tender of Bespoke / Stick-Build Automation Packages, including Technical Bid Analysis, and cost estimates
- Management of Automation Life-Cycles for Automation Packages
- Participating in Factory Acceptance Testing of Automation Packages
- Support Commissioning Qualification and Validation (CQV)
Job Requirements:
- A Third Level Degree in an associated discipline
- 10+ years’ experience as an Automation engineer in an associated sector, ideally Pharmaceutical
- Previous exposure of efficiently dealing with internal and external Clients
- A motivated self-starter with excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to respond to evolving project and client needs
- Possesses a high level of problem solving and decision-making ability
- Demonstrable ability to plan, organise and prioritise

Education and Experience:
- Degree Qualified Engineer – Automation / Electrical / Electronic, or equivalent
- System Integration experience – Process Automation (PLC, SCADA, DCS
Additional Preferred Experience:- Consultancy in EPCMV Concept, Basis of Design, or Detailed Design phase(s)
- Experience in Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Historian
- Experience with Computer System Validation (CSV)
Essential Skills:- Knowledge of GAMP, 21 CFR Part 11, ISA standards (S88, S95)
