Deliver core BAS and EPMS engineering expertise to our A/E’s and internal stakeholders enabling the Client to design and build best-in-class cloud infrastructure worldwide.
Job Description
Responsible for leading and directing consultants in the design and coordination of the mechanical systems, associated controls, electrical systems and monitoring, and overall network topology. Subject Matter Expert (SME) providing key input to other organizations and stakeholders. Responsible for leading controls workgroups with representatives from AE firms and other key stakeholders with the Client.
This position requires a detailed understanding of datacenter controls and operational experience.
Responsible for specification and drawing development detailing the control diagrams, sequence of operation for the mechanical controls systems, electrical monitoring systems, overall network topology and communication protocols required. The position will require some travel to sites for “Factory Witness Testing”, consultant/vendor interaction in the design process, as well as final commissioning of the installed systems. Duties include the technical review of BAS and EPMS design documents from lease providers to ensure Client requirements are met.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
The ideal candidate will be a control system engineer with leadership experience in HVAC controls systems design and BAS and EPMS design for Datacenters. A team player able to work in a multi-disciplined engineering team designing Client Datacenters globally and possess the skills to work in a fast-paced multi project environment. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in the network topologies and communication protocols for both PLC and DDC controls systems. Having a firm understanding of the electrical distribution system design and monitoring requirements for mission critical applications, along with mechanical system sequence of operation requirements and monitoring of all Datacenter HVAC control systems is required. Candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, excel at project management, able to multitask, be familiar with advanced engineering and energy efficient operational processes/procedures as they relate to large datacenter environments.
