Role Description
The Telecoms Engineer Subject Matter Expert will manage, review, coordinate and provide key technical input during site due diligence, detailed design and/or construction administration phases of a datacenter project. This position will collaborate and manage internal and external resources for the delivery of discipline specific systems aligning with the client and site-specific requirements.
Role Accountabilities
- The Telecoms Engineer Subject Matter Expert will be responsible for the facilitation and delivery of the client industry-leading datacentre designs including the development of new technology and advanced concepts from pre-programming through design development, construction, and the turnover to Operations.
• This role will provide technical direction, decision-making, document review and overall leadership for our datacentre architectural / engineering designs.
• To be successful in this role the candidate will oversee the delivery of multiple, concurrent, complete Datacentre design solutions aligned with the scopes, schedules, and budgets of the projects.
• The Telecoms Engineer Subject Matter Expert will engage with key groups within the client as well as outside vendors who specialize in datacenter architecture and engineering.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Successful candidates will lead and direct architecture or engineering design consultants in the design and coordination of discipline specific systems.
• The candidate must have excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
• Candidate must possess a high level of proficiency in their specific discipline with a primary focus on datacenter design.
• The candidate must also be able to work with other technical and non-technical groups in a fast- paced environment and do so with an even temperament.
• The candidate must be a person of integrity, be methodical, detailed-oriented with a strong work ethic.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in related field
• Professional Engineer
• Candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lead teams of engineers in advanced engineering and operational processes and procedures as they relate to large datacenter environments.
• Ability to manage, prioritize and successfully execute multiple concurrent projects.
Experience Required
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in consulting engineering
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as lead engineer, lead architect or design manager
