Position Summary:

This position involves working as part of a multi-discipline, highly interactive and coordinated team focused on projects including semiconductor manufacturing, data centre facilities, and other state of the art manufacturing facilities. Projects for our clients include feasibility studies, long-range planning studies, and full design services including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and services during construction for design/bid/build and design/build projects. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with strong communication skills. They will exhibit a passion and desire to apply their technical experience and knowledge in a team environment on technically challenging and professionally rewarding projects. Our team is seeking a person who understands the importance of meeting their targeted commitments while being flexible to the ever-changing and fast paced environment of our clients’ sites.

We are seeking Piping Designers  to join our team in Dublin. The successful candidates will be responsible for managing and coordinating multidiscipline engineering projects from conception to completion. Semiconductor experience is preferable, but not mandatory.

Key responsibilities:
  • Prepare 3D piping models using AutoPlant and Revit software, extract drawings, Isometrics and bills of quantities from these models.
  • Prepare conceptual designs and feasibility studies including assessment of different design options for equipment arrangements & pipe routing to determine an optimum solution.
  • Develop detailed models, drawings and isometrics from basic information such as P&ID's, piping specifications, equipment arrangements, sketches and scopes of work.
  • Present both work in progress and final solutions to the client in workgroup meetings on an ongoing basis.
  • Complete ongoing quality checks on deliverables and perform full technical check on all piping deliverables prior to formal issue to client.
  • Ensure design deliverables are completed in compliance with client specifications and project general requirements.
  • Perform site surveys and field verification as required to ensure the design intent is fully coordinated and constructible.
  • Lead the equipment & piping design coordination with other disciplines & actively participate/lead project coordination meetings & workshops.
  • Liaise with equipment vendors to obtain information needed for design completion. Review & comment on vendor submittals.
  • Develop master tie in and shut list for each project.
  • Complete design risk assessments.
  • Provide technical direction and mentoring to less experienced piping designers.
  • Determine piping deliverables list & estimate man-hours and schedule.
  • Prepare material take-offs to support cost estimates and material procurement.
  • Develop P3D specs and setup P3D Projects.
  • Manage any changes to scope and requirements and identify changes to disciplines and PM.
  • Manage all Internal discipline modelling and space coordination activities.
Education & experience:
  • 3rd level engineering qualification or equivalent trade experience.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience

Essential skills:
  • In-depth working knowledge of complex industrial, pharma or semiconductor piping systems.
  • Proficient in Plant 3D, Revit, AutoCAD (or equivalent software)
  • Experience utilising Navisworks and BIM360 on a large project.
  • Has demonstrated experience solving problems and developing solutions.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Able to successfully conduct presentations to customers and stakeholders
  • Monitor performance, identify issues, and correct issues
