Position Summary
Our German business is growing, and we are seeking a Schedule Director to support our Semiconductor Client in Magdeburg. This is a mission critical role and is instrumental in ensuring that our Clients capital projects are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget.
The Schedule Director is responsible for the planning, coordination and optimisation of construction schedules to ensure timely delivery. This role plays a crucial part in meeting construction targets, minimizing downtime, and enhancing overall operational efficiency consistent with Client wide Virtual Factory standards.
Our Client will spend more than 30 billion euros ($33 billion) to develop two chip-making plants in Magdeburg as part of its expansion plans in Europe.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Advise Client on Schedule Management requirements for the program.
  • Manage a specialised team of Project Planners and schedulers to develop, monitor and manage the program schedule.
  • Develop and manage detailed construction schedules for fab construction projects
  • Ensure construction schedule aligns to Client demand and business objectives.
  • Drive the utilisation of scheduling software to develop and manage comprehensive project schedules
  • Ensure schedules align with project scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Allocation and optimization of resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet the project's requirements.
  • Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to ensure timely resource availability.
  • Conduct critical path analysis and identify potential bottlenecks or delays in project schedules.
  • Develop mitigation plans and ensure adherence to the critical path.
  • Work closely with the program, project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align project schedules with objectives and milestones.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on schedule progress.
  • Identify potential risks that may impact project schedules and implement strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Monitor and respond to unforeseen issues in a proactive manner.
  • Ensure that projects are completed within the allocated budget and that schedules account for cost considerations.
  • Collaborate with finance and project controls teams to manage project expenditures.
  • Ensure that project schedules adhere to quality standards and industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with quality control and compliance teams to meet the required standards.
  • Implement process improvements and technological advancements to enhance project scheduling and management.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction or Project Management
  • 15+ years of construction scheduling and database management experience
  • Relevant professional qualification or chartered status with a relevant professional institution

Essential Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of semiconductor facility construction processes.
  • Expertise in Primavera P6 or similar project management software. Extensive skills with the utilization of project management software (Project Estimating, Scheduling, and Procurement systems)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel
  • Strong leadership, business partnership, written/verbal communication and analytical skills are a must to ensure alignment with internal customers, peers, and suppliers.
  • Knowledge and expertise in Construction, Facilities, Fab Technology, Quality and Lean methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
