Position Summary:

This position involves working as part of a multi-discipline, highly interactive and coordinated team focused on projects including semiconductor manufacturing, data centre facilities, and other state of the art manufacturing facilities. Projects for our clients include feasibility studies, long-range planning studies, and full design services including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and services during construction for design/bid/build and design/build projects. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with strong communication skills. They will exhibit a passion and desire to apply their technical experience and knowledge in a team environment on technically challenging and professionally rewarding projects. Our team is seeking a person who understands the importance of meeting their targeted commitments while being flexible to the ever-changing and fast paced environment of our clients’ sites.

The Design Project Manager role is to provide project leadership and co-ordination for all design matters relating to projects, ensuring the multidiscipline teams work together to deliver everything on time and within budget.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of planning and design efforts in various degign areas, for this project and related projects​
  • Lead and manage overall project scope, schedule, and cost of engineering.
  • Interface and coordinate with contract design, construction, scheduling, and estimating resources.
  • Lead the effort of engineers who define design criteria, lead scope definition and justification, and develop design concepts.
  • Manage completion of positioning, programming, and detailed design.
  • Interface with facilities staff and project managers.
  • Work with estimators to ensure costs are captured and project budgets are met.
  • Ensure implementation of the change control process to improve standards and drive innovative solutions.

Education & Experience:

  • Technical/Engineering Diploma.
  • 10+ years relevant experience on large multidiscipline projects in a design or CM role with 5 years relevant semiconductor experience.
  • Previous experience in CapEx Projects and Contractor Management.
  • Excellent networking and communication skills.
  • Highly skilled in coaching and creating a positive open and collaborative environment.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement, value for money, adaptability, technical quality, and professional standards while simultaneously developing the future vision of the business.
