Position Summary
This Intermediate Electrical Engineer position involves working as part of a multi-discipline, highly interactive and coordinated team focused on projects including semiconductor manufacturing, data center facilities, and other state of the art manufacturing facilities. Projects for our clients include feasibility studies, long-range planning studies, and full design services including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and services during construction for design/bid/build and design/build projects. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with strong communication skills. They will exhibit a passion and desire to apply their technical experience and knowledge in a team environment on technically challenging and professionally rewarding projects. Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities shall include but not limited to:

  • Execute site master planning, concept designs and preliminary engineering phases with other team members.
  • assist in preparing engineering studies and schematic design for new systems and analyse operation of existing systems.
  • Identify and research future advanced technology trends. Keep on top of technology and industry developments.
  • Assist in the development of group’s systems, procedures, standards, and knowledge management.
  • Support Business Development through client engagement at senior levels.
  • Develop, organise, and control programs to eliminate existing or potential electrical engineering problems and innovate and deliver plant improvements for our clients.
  • Independently lead plant design activities as an area/system leader and coordinate with multi-discipline designers.
  • Perform Electrical design work across several engineering disciplines in 2D/3D integrated design systems.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments and vendor bid evaluations.
  • Assist in the generation of proposals, scopes, schedules and budgets for projects.
  • Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and can work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Size and specify Electrical requirements and produce datasheets
  • Assist in preparing detailed network power distribution drawings
  • Produce cable calculations, lighting calculations and prospective short circuit calculations.
  • Develop standard installation details.
  • Update single line diagrams, layout and models with Electrical content.
  • Produce Electrical system philosophy with input from other disciplines as required.
  • Produce equipment lists and cable schedules
  • Identify or escalate issues to senior/lead engineer to help resolve issues as they arise.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.

Education and Experience

  • 5+ Years’ experience with Third level degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • General knowledge of electrical system design and applicable codes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite (Excel)
  • Previous use of SKM/Easypower/ETAP/Amtech preferrable
  • Previous use of lighting calculation software such as Dialux or Elum tools.
  • Power systems biased desirable.
  • Basic understanding of circuit protective devices, arc flash and earth fault loop impedance principles.
  • Spatial and cross discipline co-ordination awareness
  • Commercial awareness

Essential Skills

  • Strong relevant engineering/design experience in industrial/advanced technology sector.
  • Engineering/ design experience in the multi discipline systems
  • Excellent English level - written and spoken,
  • Ability to interact with other engineering disciplines, clients, and vendors.
