Arcadis DPS Group has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, passionate, and ambitious individual to work in our Advanced Technology Group (ATG), to manage and lead our global Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management (EPCM) Process Department, based out of our European ATG Group Headquarters.

 

Position Summary:

The EPCM Process Department Manager is a senior leadership role supporting our ATG Business, based in Ireland and reporting directly to the EPCM Technical Director.  The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, developing, and expanding our diverse design team to ensure that all process engineering design deliverables are met. 

To succeed in this position the candidate must have a strong engineering background in process engineering, ideally associated with semiconductor greenfield and brownfield industry experience, and be detail oriented with excellent stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

As the EPCM Process Department Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing this global engineering team’s capabilities and processes, including directing, co-ordinating and managing controls and resolutions, to achieve the optimum quality and performance required.  Key responsibilities include:

  • The day-to-day management of the team to ensure that both program milestones and team needs are met.
  • Ensuring all quality requirements are adhered to.
  • Developing, monitoring, and ensuring that the project deliverables can be achieved, on time and on budget, and are fully coordinated and barrier free with other disciplines.
  • Ensuring that change management is correctly implemented and managed for successful project delivery.
  • Implementing and developing policies, standards, and procedures for the department.
  • Identifying resource gaps within the team, interviewing, and hiring key people to build out the team for the successful project delivery.
  • Developing and implementing a training plan for the team to maintain and broaden the teams’ capabilities and competencies to meet existing and future project needs.
  • Analysing and solving engineering-related department problems with the assistance of subordinate leads and department personnel.
  • Analysing technology, resources, and market demand, to plan and assess the requirements of projects.
  • Weekly reporting of departmental metrics including monitoring team utilisation, and identifying resource needs.
  • Follow up on corrective action plans to resolve any outstanding issues related to quality, production, customers, and production controls.
  • Approving all design processes and changes to process standards and deliverables.
  • Promote and enforce a safe and healthy work environment in accordance with legislation and company policies and procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement through innovation to maintain profitability and competitiveness.
  • Responsible for maintaining design standards and compliance of group.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Process/Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10+ years working as a design discipline lead with 5 years (desirable) relevant semiconductor experience.
  • Chartered Engineer or Equivalent
  • ~3 years management experience, with technical leadership skills for problem solving and resource management.
  • Extensive knowledge of Process, Mechanical and Chemical engineering practices and principles as well as understanding scientific methods of problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability with professional service estimating, product design methods, interpersonal skills, and the ability to integrate all these skills to a productive cost-effective result.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Project).
  • Excellent program and project management skills with strong document management.
  • Excellent analytical skills including the ability to analyse, troubleshoot, process, change and improve design.
  • Familiar with legislative requirements.
  • Strong presentation, written and verbal skills.
  • Able to communicate ideas and recommendations.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and tasks at once.

Other:

  • Able to travel to client meetings, presentation, conferences nationally and internationally (15%).
  • Ability to work professionally and effectively with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Knowledge related to legal regulations and contractual relationships which can affect performance and applications in the workplace.
