Position Summary:
Our EPCM business is growing, and we are seeking leaders for our Dublin Office. This challenging position involves the management and leadership of the Civil, Structural and Architectural Department, working as part of a multi-discipline highly interactive and coordinated team focused on projects including semiconductor manufacturing, data centre facilities, and other state of the art manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with strong communication skills. They will exhibit a passion and desire to apply their professional experience and knowledge in a team environment on technically challenging and professionally rewarding projects. Projects for our clients include feasibility studies, long-range planning studies, and full design services including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and services during construction for design/bid/build and design/build projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Be the Global Subject-Matter-Expert (SME) for the ATG group, leading and controlling the design for Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA). 
  • Managing the CSA Department comprised of engineering leads and designers.
  • Develop continuous improvement and training specific to the disciplines within the department.
  • Direct the performance of engineering tasks by other discipline team members for the design of Semi-conductor  and general CSA systems, systems for high technology facilities including cleanrooms, general manufacturing/process facilities, datacenters, and institutional facilities. Writes scope of work for CSA design based on preliminary review,
  • User Requirement Specifications (URS’s) and client meetings

Skills & Experience Required:
  • Third level degree in a relevant Architectural or Civil or Structural  Engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in with several years as design discipline lead with a preferable knowledge of systems integrations within a semiconductor/high technology environment. Having Experience ideally in: Semi-conductor CSA systems, data centre/mission critical facility or manufacturing project experience.
  • Identify, recruit, develop and retain high performing department personnel. Determine and allocate resource needs in alignment with operations, project management and other disciplines.
  • Develop team to fit company requirements, the technologies we work with, future developments in the market and new markets. Ensure alignment of company objectives with individual’s development plans.
  • Interact closely with operations leadership and project management in particular to support the execution of projects and the on-going business objectives of the operation.
  • Management of agreed project schedule and budget deliverables. Coordination of design with other design disciplines and equipment suppliers. Interfacing with client design team/end users.
  • Maintain excellent client relationships in all activities concerning attracting, winning and delivering projects.
  • Lead team PDR (performance, development & reward) activities.
  • Provide leadership to the team, communicate company/team/individual goals and set clear performance expectations. Take remedial actions to address skills/performance gaps.
  • Be proactive in developing systems and methods which offer value to our customers.
  • Be commercially aware in the implementation of your activities in an efficient and cost effective manner delivering value to our customers.
  • Participate in proposal and business development activities as required.
  • Act as the lead engineer within the discipline on technically complex projects as required.
  • Technical input and support for process design team. Completion of Design Risk Assessments. Participation in Technical and Safety reviews.
  • Flexibility to work in an environment of multiple projects and varying workloads.
  • Code review and statutory compliance.

Skills & experience required:
  • Degree in Architecture. Member of the RIAI. or Civil or Structural Engineering Degree with Chartership or Equivalent. 
  • 10+ years Design experience in the Microelectronics\Mission Critical sectors.
  • Team management experience within project engineering, microelectronics, mission critical or similar industry.
  • Experience in leading a design team and coordinating the other team members.
  • Specialist experience in a key technical area e.g. cleanrooms layouts & laboratory design experience desirable with good knowledge of utility requirements.
  • Experience dealing with planning and permitting in complex hazardous facilities and a good understanding of BCAR and International building codes.
  • Excellent communication skills (ability to lead technical reviews).
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, multitasking and communication skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Ability to build, lead, develop and motivate a team of high-performing professionals.
  • Strong presentation & problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and reporting skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Revit, Microsoft Office, sketch up & AutoCAD.
Other:
  • Ability to travel to client meetings, presentations, conferences nationally and internationally;
  • Working hours: 40 hours, Monday to Friday.
