Position Summary:
DPS Advanced Technology Group is seeking a Field QA/QC (all trades) with a solid background in construction support to join our growing team based in Penang, Malaysia.  The DPS ATG Field Process QAR will act as the Owner’s Quality Assurance Representative (QAR) (scope as per Client specifications) independently auditing work scope for quality and ensure systems are installed as per the applicable Codes and specification requirements. The DPS ATG Field Process QAR will monitor the quality of the trade contractors works by incremental walk downs, final walk downs of the Trade Contractor installations. The DPS ATG Field Process QAR will be responsible for advising the trade contractors on issues that may impact the quality of installation and turnover. This includes verifying the field conditions/layout vs the IFC drawings for constructability. The DPS ATG Field Process QAR will be reporting directly to the Client Quality Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs the audits to validate and confirm Trade Contractors QC activities.
  • Focal Point for Specific Discipline, excellent familiarity with the Project Scope and Drawings.
  • Review and follow up of the Trade-Contractors relevant Quality Documentation, TIP’s etc.
  • Tracks CORs for proper closure on a daily basis.
  • Supports/ coordinates First of Kinds, First in place installations.
  • Escalation path for General Contractor or Trade Contractor.
  • Performs incremental checks to validate and confirm Trade Contractors installations.
  • Attend mutual QC Walks with Trade Contractor QC.
  • Supports start-up and Commissioning Quality Issues.
  • QAR will not direct Trade Contractor or dictate means and methods.
  • To ensure all QC related testing is in compliance to internationally accepted guidelines
  • Conduct inspection on new installation and commissioning of tools on site review of related drawings and documentation on tools installation and method statements
  • Follow up on observations and NCR issued to contractors

Education & Experience:

  • Trade Supervisor background
  • 5 years combined experience in the following clean construction market sectors: Semiconductor, Microelectronic, Biotech / Pharmaceutical, Data Centers, etc

Essential Skills:

  • Reliability is of high importance
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Solid knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Can do and solution driven attitude
  • Willing to learn and develop

Other:

  • Travel: level of travel e.g., 0% travel, 0 – 20% travel, 20 – 50% travel
  • Location: Malaysia site-based role with visa sponsorship provided for this position.
  • Travel: Occasional travel to other client sites as per business needs.
  • Working hours: 40 hours, Monday to Friday
  • Extensive training will be provided prior to travel to client Malaysia site.
