Position Summary:
The Advanced Technology Group is seeking a Functional Area Project Manager with a solid background in construction support to join our growing team based in Penang, Malaysia. The Functional Area Project Manager will work directly with our client to ensure successful delivery of all applicable tool install scope.

The successful candidate will monitor analysis and execute to client project schedules. The Functional Area Project Manager will support the development of individual tool Pull Plans, execute same and track progress. A weekly update cycle will be maintained to provide an update to team and Construction Management. Additional support functions will be required such as supporting key meetings and change control

Role and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities shall include but not limited to:

  • Manage multiple projects at a time across functional areas and stakeholders while optimizing solutions.
  • Partner and collaborate successfully with key stakeholders including, facility owners, functional area managers, tool owners, global supply management, central design, site construction and suppliers.
  • Manage day-to-day Functional Area Tool Install construction operations using lean principles to ensure a safe and quality work environment without interruptions to factory operations.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into project designs that enable affordable and constructible solutions.
  • Lead and successfully manage Tool Install projects to enable Intel businesses including new Fab modules, Fab conversions, Tool Installations, and special building projects.
  • Attend weekly team meetings and daily TI ops meetings
  • Develop documented project install plans for each tool, using the Last Planner™ system to improve co-ordination between all stakeholders.
  • Assign workload and specific tools to each Project Engineer in their area.
  • To Coordinate prompt resolution of field issues to maximise contractor’s productivity.
  • Coordination between tool install and other stakeholders.
  • Understand and facilitate the change control process.
  • Manage Bullet proofing process.
  • Owns safety within their Functional Area (“FA”), coaching for Safe Behaviour, participating in safety reports and audits.
  • Be familiar with the Safety Plan of each trade in the area and ensure trade workers adhere to it.
  • Promote zero-rework mindset within FA by ensuring implementation of the trade quality programs and client standard QA/QC procedures.
  • Generate weekly daily progress reports.

Education & Experience:

  • Ideal candidate would possess a BS or BA in Engineering, Science, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of Construction and Project Management experience in Semiconductors/Advanced Technology

Essential Skills:

  • Strong IT Skills in MS Project, Excel, Project, Word
  • Knowledge of Design and Scheduling Packages
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working in a technical setting, preferably an engineering department
  • Analytical, problem solving skills, and the capability to work well under deadlines and pressure
 
Travel:
Occasional travel to other client sites as per business needs.
 
Working hours:
45 hours, Monday to Friday
