Position summary: 
Arcadis DPS Group is seeking is seeking an experienced Materials Manager to lead the team responsible for the management of all escalations during the procurement of construction materials by the trades from the manufacturers. The procurement SM will be the main point of contact for trades, local and international suppliers, manufacturers and Intel on all construction material forecasting, escalation, LLI and risk mitigation issues.  

Key responsibilities:
The responsibilities are but not limited to
  • Establish planning procurement process for material as per needs date
  • Audit Contractors Material Management Systems and identify any risks and corrective actions
  • Ensure material delivery as per schedule
  • Expediting the material from manufacturer, shipment, delivery, loading and unloading
  • Work hand to hand with Contractor material manager
  • Ensure there are documentation process for material distribution
  • Establish a dashboard with traffic light on material delivery vs need date: red - need focus. yellow - at risk. green - in good shape.
  • Identify a tool for the dashboard (example - SAP)
  • Feed data to assigned tool (LIMA)
  • Work directly with Construction Management Organisation to develop a risk Mitigation process for Tool install Materials.
  • Lead construction materials management scope.
  • Manage the construction materials escalation for trades as per the scope and process outlined in the Construction Material Management Strategy document.
  • Be the first point of contact for Client and manufacturers on materials procurement issues.
  • Facilitate weekly meetings with the main suppliers.
  • Facilitate weekly construction materials review meeting with Client and DPS stakeholders
  • Provide a weekly construction materials procurement status report to Client.
  • Develop a materials procurement forecast independently of the trades forecast.
  • Compare trades actual progress and proactively identify where future issues may occur or identify current issues that have not been flagged by the trade.
  • Work with the trades and manufacturers to develop and execute plans to address any materials procurement issues including workarounds, mitigations, alternate solutions and escalations.
  • Provide material requirements forecasts to manufacturers in order to allow them to plan capacity and identify where future capacity bottlenecks may occur.
  • Work with the manufacturers to develop mitigation plans as necessary.
  • Work with Client commodity managers as appropriate to resolve issues with the manufacturers.
  • Escalate issues to Client once all options to eliminate or mitigate the issue have been exhausted by DPS, the trades and manufacturers.
Education & experience:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field of study
  • 8+ years of commercial experience in technology, sourcing, and leadership.
Essential skills:
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in SAP, Office 365 as well as CRMs
  • Can do attitude
