We are excited to offer an opportunity for a motivated individual to join our team as a Lead Architect focusing on advanced technology industries within the Global Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management (EPCM) Process Department at our European ATG Group Headquarters in Citywest, Dublin.
Position Summary:
The Architectural Technician will work closely with the design team and with clients and construction teams. This role requires strong design and technical experience in addition to excellent communications skills, with the ability to help manage projects through all stages. Assisting on concept design development coordinate and review new/active projects, develop creative solutions to design problems and publish planning & construction documents for various projects. The Architectural Technician will be required to perform model coordination and planning with the project team stakeholders.
Summary Responsibilities:
- Perform Architectural design work across several engineering disciplines in 2D/3D integrated design systems.
- Perform quality review checks for 2D/3D modelling and Architectural deliverables.
- Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
- High degree of proficiency and speed in Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks
- An understanding of local permitting legislation, building regulations, and health and safety legislation. Irish & UK building regulations.
- Perform necessary Architectural and design tasks to produce construction documents in conjunction with a team of Architects/engineers and designers.
- Under the direction of a Senior Architect, produce design packages in Revit & AutoCAD.
- Coordinate and collaborate in real-time with other disciplines such as mechanical, structural, electrical, and process to develop designs.
- Follow quality and CAD/BIM standards.
- Provide technical support and assistance to design team.
- Exercise judgment in developing plans or alternatives and work with teams to assure quality plans.
- Perform field activities such as field surveys and design verification.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior designers on a project-by-project basis.
Role & Requirements:
- BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role with a focus on layout development and 3D visualisations.
- Relevant experience in Industrial/ Pharmaceutical/ Life Science projects is preferred and Technically proficient in detailing these building types.
- Knowledge of cleanroom materials and working knowledge of the process and or manufacturing equipment an advantage.
- Fully proficient/high degree of competence in BIM/Revit is essential.
- A motivated and enquiring mind with excellent design, communication, and organizational skills.
- Relevant technical experience and be registered, or be eligible to be registered, to a suitable body.
- Working knowledge of Irish Planning, Building Regulations, and Building Control Legislation.
- IT proficiency and skills required to a high level.
- Strong design, technical, and construction knowledge is essential for this role, combined with detailing, design development, and tender pack assembly and coordination.
- In-depth knowledge of the Statutory Consent processes (Planning, FSCA, DAC), current Building Regulations, and the BC(A)R process is essential.
- Experience working to compressed schedules and target deadlines.
