Position Summary:
Our EPCMV business is growing, and we are seeking leaders for our Dublin Office. This challenging position involves the management and leadership of the Electrical Department, working as part of a multi-discipline highly interactive and coordinated team focused on projects including semiconductor manufacturing, data centre facilities, and other state of the art manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with strong communication skills. They will exhibit a passion and desire to apply their professional experience and knowledge in a team environment on technically challenging and professionally rewarding projects. Our team is seeking a person who understands the importance of meeting their targeted commitments while being flexible to the ever-changing and fast paced environment of our clients’ sites.

Projects for our clients include feasibility studies, long-range planning studies, and full design services including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and services during construction for design/bid/build and design/build projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Be the Global Subject-Matter-Expert (SME) for the Semiconductor Advanced Process Manufacturing (APM) Group, leading and controlling the design for Electrical and I&C
  • Managing the Electrical Department comprised of engineering leads and designers.
  • Develop continuous improvement and training specific to the disciplines within the department.
  • Direct the performance of engineering tasks by other discipline team members for the design of Semi-conductor MV/ LV and general electrical systems, systems for high technology facilities including cleanrooms, general manufacturing/process facilities, datacenters, and institutional facilities.
  • Writes scope of work for Electrical design based on preliminary review,
  • User Requirement Specifications (URS’s) and client meetings

Skills & Experience Required:
  • Third level degree in a relevant Electrical Engineering discipline.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in with several years as design discipline lead with a preferable knowledge of systems integrations within a semiconductor/high technology environment. Having Experience ideally in: Semi-conductor MV/ LV and general electrical systems, data centre/mission critical facility or manufacturing project experience.
  • Be able to provide load calculation, size and specific switchgear, switchboard and panel board and motors.
  • Experience with Easy power/SKM Powertools software.
  • ATEX Experience
  • Experience in application of National Rules for Electrical Installations (ET101) and applicable local building/specialty codes
  • Leadership skills, with a view to managing people;
  • Prepares engineering studies and schematic design for new systems and analyse operation of existing systems.
  • Identify and research future Semiconductor and Data Centre industry trends. Keep on top of technology and industry developments.
  • Assist in the development of group’s systems, procedures, standards, and knowledge management.
  • Prepare and participate in project proposals, man-hour estimating and client presentations.
  • Support Business Development through client engagement at senior levels.
  • Take responsible charge of the electrical design, including technical accuracy, completeness, and quality of electrical construction documents.
  • Analyse and design complex building systems, including: MV and LV power systems. The lighting, grounding, and process heating systems and the standby generator and UPS systems for critical power needs
  • Responsible for up front site selection and due diligence activities.
  • Exercise judgment in developing plans or alternatives and work with teams to assure quality plans.
  • Perform field activities such as observation of construction activities.
  • Review construction submittals for conformance with the intent of contract and design documents.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to project electrical engineers and designers on a project-by-project basis.
  • Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • Direct the use of Easypower/SKM Power tools software to design, optimize and troubleshoot electrical systems.
  • Develop system sequences of operation and line diagrams.
Skills & experience required:
  • Third level degree in a relevant Electrical Engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years of relevant management and leadership experience in with several years as design discipline lead with a preferable knowledge of systems integrations within a semiconductor/high technology environment.
  • Ideally 15+ years semiconductor MV/ LV and general electrical systems, data centre/mission critical facility or manufacturing project experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide load calculation, size and specific switchgear, switchboard and panel board and motors.
  • Experience with Easy power/SKM Powertools software.
  • ATEX Experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in application of National Rules for Electrical Installations (ET101) and applicable local building/specialty codes
Other:
  • Ability to travel to client meetings, presentations, conferences nationally and internationally;
  • Working hours: 40 hours, Monday to Friday.
