Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of engineering projects by managing and liaising with key project stakeholders, including client design teams, main contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing design and IFC specifications and drawings to gain a full understanding of project scope and requirements
- Overseeing the coordination process, ensuring design information is transformed into installation drawings by BIM personnel in line with specifications and project schedules
- Ensuring engineering activities are planned and executed in accordance with project timelines
- Managing technical submittals and approval processes
- Ensuring installations are completed in line with project specifications and QA requirements, including agreed benchmarking standards
- Coordinating with subcontractors and maintaining effective information flow to support project progress
- Attending and contributing to weekly project meetings
- Promoting new engineering practices and processes to improve project delivery and efficiency
- Preparing and agreeing project completion criteria and managing close-out documentation
- Assisting with the preparation of subcontractor and supplier tender packages alongside the Project QS
- Managing the development, implementation, and handover of work packs
- Coordinating BIM priorities, including isometric generation and drawing releases.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- 35 years experience working with a recognised Mechanical or Electrical Contractor.
- Excellent organisational and project planning skills.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with Navisworks and engineering-related database systems.
- Familiarity with Project/Primavera planning software and CAD/BIM processes.
- Strong knowledge of piping and mechanical pipework systems.
- Ability to effectively manage workload and prioritise tasks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
