Project Engineer – Utilities / Facilities (Intermediate)

About the Role

Our Client is seeking an intermediate Project Engineer to support site capital projects across utilities, facilities, and infrastructure within a GMP manufacturing environment.

This role will involve supporting the delivery of upgrades, modifications, and installations across clean utilities and plant systems, while working closely with cross-functional teams and contractors onsite.

Suitable for an engineer with GMP experience looking to build further exposure across utilities or process-related projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of utilities and facilities projects from design through to commissioning and handover
  • Work on systems including WFI, Purified Water, Clean Steam, HVAC, compressed air, and chilled water
  • Coordinate activities with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and external vendors
  • Support contractor management and ensure safe project execution
  • Prepare and maintain GMP documentation (URS, test protocols, commissioning plans)
  • Assist with commissioning, troubleshooting, and system handover

Experience Required

  • 3–7 years’ engineering experience within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences manufacturing environment
  • Background in utilities, facilities, or process engineering
  • Understanding of project lifecycle (design → commissioning → handover)
  • Experience with GMP documentation and change control

Desirable

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Process, Electrical, etc.)
  • Exposure to validation / qualification activities
