Automation Engineer
(6-Month Fixed Term Contract)
Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Automation Engineer (MES) to join our clients team on a 6-month fixed-term contract based in Dublin 15. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic manufacturing environment, supporting site automation systems and delivering impactful engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
The Automation Engineer will play a key role in the support and development of automation systems on site. Responsibilities include:
- Troubleshooting and fault-finding on complex automation equipment and networks.
- Reviewing, understanding, and modifying software programs developed by others.
- Integrating MES EBR systems with manufacturing and packaging equipment.
- Managing controller networks, OPC connectivity, and historian integration.
- Implementing LDAP/Active Directory integration for access control on equipment.
- Ensuring system development and upgrades follow GAMP 5 and SDLC guidelines.
- Preparing and reviewing design documentation, URS/FDS/CS documents, and tender specifications.
- Generating, reviewing, and approving project documentation (e.g., risk assessments, validation protocols, SOPs).
- Developing end-user training materials and conducting training on new systems and processes.
- Performing technical reviews of SOPs and process documentation related to equipment and systems.
Skills & Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience with automated control systems in a GMP-regulated environment.
- Solid understanding of change control and working in validated systems.
- Demonstrated experience integrating SCADA systems with MES platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and documentation requirements.
- Ability to interpret technical documents and clearly communicate issues and resolutions.
