Job Description
Electrical Engineer
The successful Electrical Engineer will have worked as a Plant/EI engineer supporting plant Electrical/Instrument maintenance tasks. A minimum 3 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within facilities management or a related industry.
• Site experience with Permitting system.
• Working closely with EHS to close out any CAPA’s relating to Electrical, Fire alarm, and Gas Systems onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
o Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems and equipment.
o Diagnose faults in electrical systems and implement corrective measures.
o Respond quickly to emergency electrical failures and outages.
Design and Implementation:
o Design and specify electrical systems for new projects and renovations.
o Ensure electrical designs comply with national and local regulations and standards.
o Develop and oversee the implementation of electrical project plans.
Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
o Maintain accurate records of electrical work and compliance documentation.
o Conduct risk assessments related to electrical installations.
Collaboration:
o Work closely with the facilities management team to integrate electrical systems with other building systems.
o Liaise with contractors and vendors for electrical works and services.
Upgrades and Improvements:
o Identify opportunities for facility electrical system improvements for efficiency and sustainability.
o Assist in the planning and budgeting for electrical upgrades and projects.
Training and Supervision:
o Provide guidance and training to junior staff and maintenance personnel on electrical systems.
o Supervise subcontractors and field personnel during electrical installations and repairs.
Experience with building management systems (BMS) and automated control systems is a plus.
Skills:
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and lighting design.
• Proficiency in electrical design software and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
