About Our Role

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a CSA Quantity Surveyor to focus on a large Medical Devices project within 10 K of Cork City. The successful QS will be working as part of a multidiscipline project Engineering team site based.

The role will include all aspects of Quantity Surveying in post-contract administration.

The successful candidates will be capable of working independently or as part of a larger team and will report directly to the managing surveyor. Implementation of ‘Lean’ project delivery is fundamental for our company.

The role involves commercial Closure of CSA packages.

Responsibilities

Post Contract duties would include:

• Valuing progress on site for interim certificates
• Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget forecasts accordingly – Manage commercial contracts
• Liaise with the client and other construction professionals, such as site managers, project managers and site engineers
• Determination of amounts due to contractors under-price variations
• Valuing proposed instructions
• Expediting contractors' insurances, bonds, and collateral warranties
• Validating contractors' final account
• Claims Management
• Cashflow Management

Requirements

• Qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• 5+years’ experience in a Consultancy or Main contractor environment carrying out pre and post contract duties.
• Experience in Pharma/Biopharma a bonus but not essential.
• Strong understanding of building detail and construction technology
• Experience of managing Claims
• Strong IT skills, specifically in Excel, Cubit, Cost X and Outlook are beneficial.
