Job Description

We are working with a highly regarded Tier 1 building contractor who is looking to appoint a Construction Planner to join their growing team near Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing projects to life through careful planning, strong communication, and a practical understanding of how buildings are delivered.

This employer is open to applications from candidates with a site-based or design background who are interested in making the move into construction planning. If you have worked in delivery, coordination, design management, or a related construction role and want to develop your career in planning, this could be a great next step.

What is involved?

You will play a key part in developing and maintaining project programmes, supporting pre-construction and live project teams, and helping ensure works are planned realistically and delivered efficiently. The role will involve working closely with operational, commercial, and design teams to keep projects moving in the right direction.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to project strategy, sequencing, logistics, and programme updates, so this is a role for someone who can balance detail with the bigger picture.

What They’re Looking For

  • Experience in construction, either from site, design, coordination, or a similar background.

  • A genuine interest in moving into planning or developing existing planning experience.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work with different teams.

  • Strong organisation, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.

  • Knowledge of building construction processes and project delivery.

Why Apply

This is a strong opportunity to join a business with an excellent reputation in the market and real exposure to quality projects. You will be joining a contractor that values development and is open to bringing the right person into planning from a different construction background.

The role offers a chance to build a long-term career in planning with the support of an experienced team, rather than being expected to know everything from day one.
