About the Opportunity

Are you an enthusiastic team player ready to deliver exceptional results on diverse projects across a growing region? A top tier 1 contractor seeks a Site Engineer for its expanding Energy division in Scotland—now is the perfect time to join renewable energy projects in a Civils-focused environment.

The Role

Join the Energy team to assist in delivering renewable energy projects throughout Scotland, leveraging Civils experience in reinforced concrete structures, bridges, large-scale earthworks, underground services/drainage, and road construction. Oversee all on-site engineering aspects for assigned projects, reporting to the Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement health & safety protocols.
  • Handle design checks, take-offs, setting out, and quality control across the project lifecycle.
  • Produce and maintain site documents, including construction phase plans, works package plans, method statements, task briefings, risk assessments, and site permits.
  • Manage site quality documents like ITPs and checklists.
  • Attend pre-start and contract meetings; manage subcontractors for programme and compliance.
  • Handle client liaison, progress reports, and meetings; support multiple sites as needed.
  • Maintain contemporaneous records of project costs and document control via web-based systems.

Ideal Candidate

Competent in site setting out, engineering, and surveying with various equipment; proficient in Microsoft Office (AutoCAD knowledge preferred, training available). Hold SMSTS 5-day certification (preferred, training available), excellent communication skills, and experience creating WPPs, TBs, Permits to Dig, and ITPs. Work independently or in teams, build stakeholder relationships, and be flexible for weekends, shifts, and travel.

Essentials and Flexibility

Valid CSCS card, full driving licence, First Aid certification, CAT & Genny training, and civil engineering degree or HNC/HND required. Open to candidates with access, compounds, or general Civils experience—they can cross over into renewables with training.

Benefits

Competitive salary, overtime, pension, company car/allowance, health cash plan, wellbeing support, and two paid volunteering days annually. Award-winning training advances your career in a supportive environment.
