About the Opportunity

Are you an experienced General Foreperson with a customer-focused approach and strong relationship-building skills? Ready to drive exceptional results on diverse projects and lead teams to success in a growing region? A top tier 1 contractor offers an exciting General Foreperson role in its expanding Energy division in Scotland—now is the ideal time to join renewable energy projects in a Civils environment.

The Role

Join the Energy team to support delivery of renewable energy projects across Scotland, drawing on Civils experience in reinforced concrete structures, bridges, large-scale earthworks, underground services/drainage, and road construction. Oversee all site management aspects, reporting to the Contracts Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage HSQE onsite with the team, ensuring compliance, fostering a strong health, safety, and quality culture using electronic systems.
  • Proactively oversee site operations, conduct inspections, maintain cost records, and supervise civils/renewable site teams.
  • Build client and team relationships, procure materials/plant/labour per programme, identify efficiencies, and handle subcontractor management.
  • Perform weekly safety audits, daily diaries, timely site returns, and high-standard H&S paperwork with a focus on continuous HSQE improvement.

Ideal Candidate

Civils industry experience, especially infrastructure and community-facing projects; strong commercial awareness, programme delivery, and team management track record. NRSWA/TWS certifications preferred; excellent communication, interpersonal skills, PC proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), and ability to handle pressure, deadlines, weekends, shifts, and travel while maintaining confidentiality.

Essentials and Flexibility

SMSTS certification, Civils experience, valid CSCS card, ability to read technical drawings, and full First Aid required. Flexible for candidates with access, compounds, or general Civils backgrounds—they can transition into renewables with training.

Benefits

Competitive salary, overtime, pension, company car/allowance, health cash plan, wellbeing support, and two paid volunteering days yearly. Award-winning training supports career growth in a people-focused environment.
