About the Client:
 
Our client is a well-established and highly regarded fit-out specialist within the construction industry, with a focus on delivering high-quality projects in the food and drinks sector. They are now looking to expand their team with a dedicated Quantity Surveyor to work out of their Glasgow office. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking company and contribute to the successful delivery of key fit-out projects.
 
Role Overview:
 
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will report directly to the Commercial Manager and be responsible for overseeing the commercial aspects of fit-out projects within the food & drinks sector. This role requires a strong level of competency, reliability, and attention to detail. Ideally, candidates will have a background in fit-out projects, though experience in related sectors will also be considered.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and control costs for fit-out projects in the food and drink sector.
  • Assist in preparing budgets, cost reports, and financial forecasts.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Manager to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Review and evaluate contractor tenders, assisting with the negotiation and preparation of contracts.
  • Maintain and foster strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Monitor and report on project performance, identifying and mitigating any potential risks.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with a background in fit-out projects.
  • Strong understanding of cost management, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Previous experience in the food & drink sector is advantageous but not essential.
  • Reliable, proactive, and capable of managing your workload independently.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., RICS) would be beneficial but not essential.
