Due to ongoing growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their team and play a key role in shaping the success of high-profile developments throughout Scotland.

Role Overview

As a Senior Estimator, you will lead the preparation and submission of competitive tenders for large-scale projects. Collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and supply chain partners, you’ll provide detailed cost plans that align with client requirements and company goals. Your input will be vital in securing new work and ensuring commercial success from the outset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate, detailed cost estimates for large construction projects.

  • Review and interpret tender documentation, including drawings, specifications, and programmes.

  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and build accurate cost models.

  • Assess quotations for value, compliance, and alignment with project scope.

  • Work with internal teams to ensure estimates support project budgets and delivery strategies.

  • Mentor junior estimators, supporting their technical and professional development.

  • Maintain records of estimates and ensure clarity across the tendering process.

  • Stay informed on market trends, cost movements, and industry developments.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience as a Senior Estimator within a Tier 1 or major regional contractor.

  • Strong technical knowledge of construction processes, pricing methods, and procurement strategies.

  • Expertise in reading technical drawings and tender documentation.

  • Skilled in using estimating software and related construction tools.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.

  • High attention to detail, capable of managing multiple tenders and tight deadlines.

  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
