Job Description

Are you a skilled Quantity Surveyor or Estimator with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for delivering exceptional commercial fit-out projects? We are assisting a specialist fitout contractor who are looking for a proactive and commercially focused professional to prepare tenders, manage project costs and drive profitability. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse and exciting projects while being part of a supportive and dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Estimating Manager, your role will include:

  • Reviewing tender documents, including drawings, specifications, and cost schedules.
  • Preparing accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates, prioritizing precision and quality.
  • Analyzing subcontractor quotes, negotiating terms, and fostering strong supplier relationships.
  • Collaborating with project teams to refine specifications and provide budget insights.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date cost database for materials and labour.
  • Assisting in the preparation of competitive bid proposals and client presentations.
  • Managing work packages, assessing submissions, and negotiating contracts to secure the best value.
  • Procuring subcontractors and supporting supply chain management initiatives.
  • Overseeing procurement of preliminaries and materials in collaboration with the buying department.
  • Monitoring project budgets and ensuring effective financial control, including cash flow, cost reconciliations, and valuations.
  • Submitting and finalizing monthly valuations and accounts in line with agreed timelines.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate management of contractual procedures, including variations, delay notifications, and early warnings.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the commercial interior fit-out sector.
  • Expertise in subcontractor management and procurement.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building regulations.
  • Familiarity with standard contracts such as JCT, NEC, and SBCC.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • A track record of delivering profitable projects.
  • A proactive, solution-driven mindset and commitment to company values.
