Job Description

Are you a Construction Project Manager eager to get your teeth into a large new project? Many of you I know have spent the last year or two stuck in preconstruction hell, caught up in endless cycles of value engineering. It gets in the way of what you do best: build!

It has been a source of growing frustration for a number of people I speak to but if that resonates with you, we are keen to hear from you. We are recruiting on behalf of a prominent construction firm who are set to commence on a large new building project in Cumbria; a complex mixed-used development over £100m value where you will steer a large delivery team over a 2-year programme.

Role Responsibilities

As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards, on time, and within budget. Key responsibilities include:

  • Contractual and Project Oversight: Develop a thorough understanding of contract requirements from tender documentation and project Conditions of Contract.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Attend and contribute to subcontractor Pre-Start meetings and seek out potential commercial opportunities.
  • Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through regular engagement and professional presentation.
  • Documentation and Administration: Ensure that the Project H&S File / O&M’s / Building Manuals are produced and submitted timeously.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain knowledge of and adherence to all relevant health and safety legislation, company policies, and specific project requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure specified quality standards are understood and achieved by the entire project team, including supply chain partners.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Relevant construction-related qualification.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years in a similar project management role within a main contracting environment, ideally on large multi-storey building projects.

If you are yearning to get on site and build and feel ready for what will be a challenging yet rewarding role, we’d love to hear from you! Please apply now to start the next step in your career journey.
