Job Description
A major construction company based in Glasgow is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its dynamic team. The successful candidate will oversee public building framework contracts supporting the delivery team, ensuring works are delivered within scope and budget requirements.
This position offers a motivated professional the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects that benefit the community in the west of Scotland.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing all contracts from initial estimates to final accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans.
- Managing and overseeing all aspects of the subcontract procurement process, including tendering, negotiation, and contract administration.
- Conducting risk and value management and cost control.
- Providing financial advice and forecasts to stakeholders and project teams.
- Ensuring that all work complies with legal, regulatory, and industry standards.
- Preparing and presenting detailed reports on project progress and financial performance.
- Liaising with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
- Resolving any financial or contractual disputes that may arise.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor working in a main contracting environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying (preferable)
- Strong understanding of construction packages, materials, and legal regulations.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
