About the role
We’re building a greenfield compliance platform for the fintech sector, designed to meet a specific regulatory need. The architecture is already defined and documented — your role is to bring it to life with thoughtful, pragmatic implementation.
You’ll act as the primary Full‑Stack Software Engineer in a small, senior team, working closely with a Tech Lead, DevOps Engineer, Product Manager, and Data Engineer. The focus is on delivering a system that is fast, secure, and auditable — one that can reliably answer and adapt to complex compliance questions.
This role is ideal for someone who values clear technical direction, enjoys working within real‑world constraints, and is comfortable taking ownership of implementation decisions without heavy process or bureaucracy.
What you’ll do
- Build async APIs in Python (FastAPI or similar)
- Design and optimise relational databases
- Implement authentication (JWT, OAuth2, OIDC/SSO)
- Integrate a React frontend with backend APIs
- Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
- Apply strong security practices and write audit‑ready code
- Document decisions and collaborate in a small, async team
What we’re looking for
- 3+ years Python backend experience (async APIs, SQLAlchemy, migrations)
- Solid database design and query optimisation skills
- Working React knowledge (integration > UI design)
- Practical Git experience beyond basic workflows
- Docker & Kubernetes fundamentals
- Security‑minded development approach
- Clear written communication and strong self‑direction
