Mechanical Technician
Location: Hartburn, Stockton-on-Tees
Job Type: Temp to Perm
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm
Hourly rate: £20 per hour
Our client is a well-established independent garage with over 100 years of trading history, providing vehicle servicing, repairs, MOT testing and recovery services across the Teesside area. Duties Will include:
- Vehicle servicing and routine maintenance
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Carrying out repairs efficiently and accurately
- Inspecting vehicles and identifying any additional work required
- Completing job cards and workshop documentation
- Working to company and industry standards
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Comply with Company Health & Safety Policy
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Technician, Vehicle Technician or Mechanic
- Confident working on a variety of vehicle makes and models
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Up to 6 penalty points may be considered, depending on the nature of the endorsement
- Experience working within an independent garage environment is preferred
- MOT Tester qualification would be advantageous but is not essential
- DBS certificate preferred, or willingness to undergo a DBS check
Important Information: Due to the nature of the work involving police recovery vehicles, candidates must either hold a valid DBS certificate or be willing to undergo a DBS check, and must pass a drug and alcohol test.
