Process Engineer
Location: Washington, Tyne & Wear
Sector: Industrial Manufacturing
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum, depending on experience

Central Employment are looking to recruit a Process Engineer to join a manufacturing organisation based in Washington, Tyne & Wear. This role supports continuous improvement across production, focusing on quality, safety, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs

  • Develop, maintain, and enforce SOPs across manufacturing operations

  • Support the introduction of new products into production, including validation and training

  • Assist in root cause analysis and resolution of quality issues (CCA/NRFT)

  • Work cross-functionally with Quality, Production, and Technical teams

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and environmental regulations

Candidate Requirements:

  • 3–5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods

  • Familiarity with tools such as FMEA, 8D, Ishikawa, 5-Why, and SPC

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Engineering or a related discipline

  • Six Sigma Green Belt (preferred)

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
