Job Description

We are working with a well-established engineering group based in Stockport, supplying high-value precision tooling to the aerospace, defence, nuclear, and space sectors. Operating from a 6.5-acre facility, the company has over 70 years of experience delivering turnkey engineering solutions, from concept through to full-scale manufacturing.

They are looking to appoint a Sales/Business Development Manager to drive commercial growth through market expansion, strategic partnerships, and key account development.

Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Security Clearance: BPSS preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain long-term customer relationships

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in core and adjacent markets

  • Support bid and proposal activity alongside technical and estimating teams

  • Monitor key commercial metrics, including quote volumes and conversion rates

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of sales and supply chain processes

  • Support wider strategic planning and profitability initiatives

  • Represent the business at customer meetings, industry events, and exhibitions

Requirements

  • Strong commercial background within defence and aerospace sectors

  • Established network across UKMOD programmes and associated supply chains

  • Proven track record in technical sales and key account management

  • Confident in leading bids and developing compelling commercial proposals

  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Able to travel within the UK and Europe when required
