A long-established engineering group based in Stockport is looking to appoint a Manufacturing Project Manager to take ownership of high-value manufacturing projects across the aerospace, nuclear, defence, and space sectors. Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester
Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (dependent on experience)

The Role
This is a key position within the business, responsible for the planning and execution of complex manufacturing programmes. Working closely with internal stakeholders and subcontractors, the successful candidate will lead the coordination of manufacturing activities to ensure delivery on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage manufacturing work packages with full responsibility for cost, schedule, and quality
Support large-scale contracts throughout the full product lifecycle
Build effective working relationships with internal teams and external suppliers
Provide clear, accurate reporting on project performance and progress
Translate programme objectives into actionable plans for manufacturing teams
Contribute to risk management, resource planning, and budget oversight
Support tendering and bidding efforts for new business opportunities
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Project Management certification (e.g. PRINCE2, APM, PMP)
3–4 years’ experience in project management, ideally within an engineering or production environment
Demonstrated ability to deliver fixed-cost projects within a matrix organisation
Strong leadership and communication skills with experience managing cross-functional teams
Proactive and solutions-focused, with a practical, hands-on approach
Familiar with project management tools and methodologies
