A leading player in the UK’s animal nutrition sector is seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Manager to oversee quality operations at their site. Operating as part of a larger group, the site produces high-quality feed products and maintains a strong reputation for excellence and compliance across multiple industry standards.
Location: Ripon
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Shifts: 40hrs p/w onsite Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm

The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Head of Group Quality and Technical, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and enhancing site-wide quality assurance and feed safety systems. This position plays a vital role in ensuring regulatory compliance, product consistency, and continuous improvement throughout manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Leading internal and external audit processes, ensuring readiness for FEMAS, UFAS, VMD, Soil Association, and other standards.
Maintaining and continuously improving the site’s Quality Management System.
Managing quality control staff and the day-to-day operation of the NIR testing facility.
Developing and monitoring quality control plans, trend analysis, and reporting.
Ensuring compliance with SOPs and conducting regular process and site audits.
Leading HACCP development and implementation, ensuring training and adherence across teams.
Overseeing complaints management, from investigation through to resolution and reporting.
Managing hygiene, pest control, and site standards including the cleaning team.
Driving continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional departments.
Candidate Profile:
Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Food Science, Agriculture, Animal Nutrition).
At least 5 years of quality management experience, ideally within the feed or food production sectors.
In-depth knowledge of HACCP and risk-based quality management systems.
Experienced in root cause analysis, corrective action planning, and problem-solving techniques.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and implement change.
Full UK driving licence and access to transport.
