Job Title: HIAB Driver / Yard Operative

Location: Derwenthaugh Industrial Estate, Swalwell, NE16 3BQ

Hours:

Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:00

Friday: 07:30 – 15:00

Pay Rate: £16.50 per hour

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and reliable HIAB Driver / Yard Operative to join their team at a busy site in Swalwell.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled driver with a flexible and hands-on attitude to work with a well-established company that supports construction and infrastructure projects across the region.

The Role Will Involve:

Driving a rigid HIAB vehicle to deliver and collect plant machinery, accommodation units, and various site equipment.

Operating the HIAB crane (hook and remote) and using beavertail ramps as required.

Driving a 7.5t dropside vehicle to transport smaller loads to and from site locations.

Supporting with general yard duties including cleaning, fuelling, inspections, and maintenance of equipment.

Assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of the yard and supporting operational demands as needed.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

A flexible and positive attitude, with a willingness to adapt to a range of daily tasks.

Confidence operating both HGV and LCV vehicles.

A strong work ethic and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

Essential Certifications:

Driver CPC (Up to Date)

ALLMI (Hook & Remote)

NPORS Plant Loader & Securer (formal training can be provided for experienced candidates)

NPORS Plant Mover (formal training can be provided for experienced candidates)

Desirable (but not essential) Certifications:

Slinger Signaller

ALLMI (Clamshell Bucket)

Forklift Truck

ADR Awareness
