Site Services Technician
Location: Gateshead Team Valley, UK
Salary: £14.20p/h + Overtime Eligibility

A leading engineering and manufacturing company is seeking a proactive and skilled Site Services Technician to join their dynamic team. This role is essential to ensuring the smooth and safe operation of all site facilities and equipment, contributing to both safety and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and optimize building infrastructure, machinery, and ancillary equipment, ensuring safety and compliance.
  • Collaborate effectively with contractors and team members to ensure efficient and legally compliant operations.
  • Perform planned maintenance, rapid repair of breakdowns, and continuous improvement activities to enhance site performance.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on issues, implementing plans to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Complete daily start-up, shut-down, changeover, and running checks, alongside area patrols and improvement projects.
  • Maintain comprehensive records using the CMMS system, including logs of temporary repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Manage site effluent, ensuring environmental permit compliance.
  • Perform varied tasks, including plumbing, decorating, basic electrical work, mechanical tasks, fabrication, and joinery.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Technical proficiency with a focus on maintenance and repair within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to identify critical information and respond swiftly.
  • Experience with process management and time optimization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering teamwork and proactive problem-solving.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience in food manufacturing or production line maintenance would be an advantage.
  • Relevant technical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or equivalent).
  • Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
  • You must have a driving license for this position as you will be required to leave site on occasion and collect required parts.
