Groundworker – Temp to Perm – £18 per hour (CIS) – North East

We’re recruiting on behalf of a respected civil engineering client for an experienced Groundworker to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for stable, long-term work across a variety of projects throughout the North East.

Pay: £18 per hour (CIS)

 Location: Sites across the North East

Type: Temp to Perm, full-time

About the Role:

As a Groundworker, you’ll be carrying out a wide range of tasks including drainage, concreting, kerbing, ducting, and general civils work. You’ll play a key role in helping deliver projects safely, on time, and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform all aspects of groundworks including drainage, concreting, kerbing, and ducting.
• Operate plant and machinery (with valid certification).
• Maintain tools and equipment in a safe, clean condition.
• Complete site paperwork accurately, including timesheets and variation/damage reports.
• Follow all health and safety protocols and report near misses or unsafe practices.
• Work closely with the site team to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Essential Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Groundworker within civil engineering or construction.
• CPCS Card (Plant Operations/General Operative).
• Valid certificates for:

Abrasive Wheel, Asbestos Awareness, Confined Spaces, Emergency First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Safety, Working at Height Awareness, Slinger/Signaller, SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme).
