Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure & Application Support Engineer
Salary: £34,000 - £38,000 + KPI Bonus (up to 7.5%)
Location: Stockport (Office-based with 1 day per week remote)
About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cloud Infrastructure & Application Support Engineer to join a growing team in the critical care sector. This role involves providing both cloud infrastructure support and application support for a cloud-hosted platform and on-premise systems used by social housing, social care, and private care providers. The platform operates 24/7 to handle emergency alarm calls for vulnerable service users, with the Technical Support Team providing support during office hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and respond to technical support requests and system alerts, ensuring SLA and KPI adherence.
- Provide Azure infrastructure support, including incident response, management, and maintenance.
- Deliver remote application support for cloud-hosted and on-premise systems.
- Support Microsoft Server & Desktop Operating Systems and Linux Debian environments.
- Administer SIP Proxy Servers (e.g., 3CX, Freeswitch, STUN) and troubleshoot VoIP communications.
- Manage router/firewall configurations, VPNs, VLANs, and DMZs to maintain security best practices.
- Assist in the build, test, and deployment of customer systems and software updates.
- Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new software releases.
- Maintain documentation and contribute to a knowledge base for recurring incidents.
- Ensure compliance with ISO9001, ISO27001, and Cyber Essentials by following established procedures.
- Occasionally travel to other offices and customer sites as required.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in DevOps, Technical Support, Desktop Support, or Application Support.
- Strong Azure expertise: IaaS management, network security, monitoring, and high availability setups.
- Knowledge of SQL Server (queries, database structure).
- Experience supporting SIP/VoIP communications.
- Familiarity with remote desktop support tools (Salesforce Service Cloud experience is a plus).
- Certifications in Azure, Microsoft, Linux, Cisco, or similar are desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- A UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.
