Machine Operator / Setter
Location: Gateshead
Pay Rate: £12.35–£14.37 per hour (DOE)

We are recruiting Machine Operators/Setters to join one of the UK’s leading and most forward‑thinking timber manufacturers. Operating in sawmilling, I‑Joist production and pallet manufacturing, the business continues to expand and is committed to developing its people and future leaders.

Based at the Gateshead site, you will work within a busy pallet processing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to grow their skills in a supportive and progressive environment.

What You’ll Do

• Operate a range of factory production machinery
• Carry out changeovers between different product types
• Maintain high quality standards for finished goods
• Work with the team to improve output and machine efficiency
• Troubleshoot minor stoppages
• Once trained, support training of new operators
• Perform additional reasonable duties as required

Shift Pattern (Monday–Friday)

• 06:20–14:30
• 14:20–22:30
  Overtime available as needed.

• Experience in machine operation and/or machine setting
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and health & safety
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Well-organised, reliable, and flexible
• Good time‑management
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills
• Ability to train others (after full training)
• Fluent English (spoken and written)
• Eligible to work in the UK
