Location: Melksham
Employment Type: Permanent
Salary: £27,000 + (DOE)
Hours: 36.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday

We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing and engineering business in Melksham, looking for a Graduate Tooling and Sustaining Engineer to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer looking to build hands-on experience in tooling design, manufacturing processes, and product development. You’ll be working closely with a Lead Tooling Engineer and cross-functional teams to support both new and existing tooling used in high-performance production environments.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Support the design and development of mould tooling and related equipment
  • Assist with the maintenance and improvement of legacy tools and processes
  • Work with experienced engineers to assess tooling performance and identify improvements
  • Help prepare technical documentation, specifications, and reports
  • Participate in problem-solving, engineering change processes, and process audits
  • Contribute to capital project planning and learn how to manage tooling suppliers
  • Get involved in the transfer of new products into production and support hands-on training with manufacturing teams

Who We’re Looking For:

Essential:

  • A degree, HNC, or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing, or Polymer Technology
  • A keen interest in tooling, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills
  • Competence in a 3D CAD system
  • A proactive, hands-on mindset and willingness to learn
  • Experience with SolidWorks, FEA/CAE, or manufacturing projects
  • Familiarity with materials including plastics/rubber
