Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
Hours: 36.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Tooling and Sustaining Engineer on behalf of a highly respected manufacturing company based in Wiltshire.
This is a permanent position and a fantastic opportunity for an experienced tooling professional looking for a new challenge in a well-established, forward-thinking business.
You will work closely with the Lead Tooling Engineer, supporting new mould tool development and the ongoing maintenance and improvement of legacy tooling used in the production of components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, development, and implementation of mould and associated tooling
- Support with tool maintenance, repairs, replacements, and improvements
- Manage tooling-related documentation, asset registers, and audits
- Define tooling specifications and liaise with external suppliers
- Support capital investment projects and manage related budgets
- Conduct process evaluations, capability studies, and SPC analysis
- Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues
- Provide technical input for training and handovers of new tools or processes
- Apply structured problem-solving techniques to sustain production efficiency
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or similar
- Experience in rubber or plastic mould tooling
- Strong practical and analytical skills
- Proficiency in 3D CAD (any platform)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Desirable:
- SolidWorks experience
- Knowledge of CAE/FEA techniques
- Hands-on prototyping/test experience
